Temperatures appear to peak not at the equator, but at approximately 15-20 degrees of latitude.
Southern Hemisphere latitudes only reach -60 degrees due to the distribution of land mass around the globe,
and the lack of cities in Antarctica from which we were able to pull data for this project.
Temperatures seem to decrease more rapidly in the northern hemisphere than in the southern hemisphere.
At 40 degrees latitude, the average temperature was approximately 20 degrees Fahrenheit cooler than at
-40 degrees latitude. This is likely due again to the larger land mass in the northern hemisphere,
with a larger variety of weather conditions.
